Hawaii Vacation Rentals vs. Hawaii Hotels
Is it better to rent a hotel or a vacation rental home or condo while on your Hawaii vacation? The answer to this question might surprise you.
Size Matters: The typical vacation rental home or condo averages about 1800 square feet or more, whereas hotel rooms are much smaller and are generally less than 400 square feet in size. So if you want room to stretch out, you’re better off looking for a Hawaii vacation rental.
Privacy: If you’re looking for a little romantic privacy or anonymity while your on vacation consider that last time a hotel maid walked in on you. Or did you notice that the walls of the hotel seemed just a little too thin and you felt like you could hear everything that was going on in the next room? How about trying to find a quiet place to read? Now imagine renting a vacation rental home. Many have large living areas with entertainment centers. Some come with their own DVD libraries, free satellite TV, internet, and book libraries. Some even have private pools in the back yard allowing you solitude and space. Now isn't that why you came on vacation?
Dining: I don’t know about you, but if I’m on vacation, I don’t want to have to get dressed and go out for every meal… especially breakfast. Most vacation rental condos come with a completely furnished kitchen. Now at least you have options. You can go out to eat or stay inside for a midnight snack or breakfast on your private lanai overlooking the ocean. This is a great way to save some money too.
Cost: Most people are surprise to learn that they can rent a whole condo or home for about a third less than the price of a typical hotel. Plus you won’t find the all the hidden charges that most hotels ding you with. ($3.50 for bottled water, $20 a day for parking, internet fees, pool towel fees, etc.)
Conclusion: Of course many people are content to stay in a hotel and don’t mind paying for it. They enjoy walking through the marble lobbies and eating in the hotel restaurants. Of course there is nothing stopping you from visiting the hotels even if you’re staying next door in your own vacation rental condo. Vacation Rentals allow you to have the best of both. |
